Dr. Chandrika Mathur is a researcher and language teacher with more than 25 years of experience. She has taught French to adults and children in India and Canada and later Hindi as a new language to children at the Rishi Valley School in India. Based on this experience, she has developed the Hindi Ki Duniya series, which aims to address the needs of young non-native learners of Hindi. Dr. Mathur completed her M.A. and M.Phil in French Language and Literature from Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi. She trained to become a French language teacher at the University de la Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris, France. She went on to do her doctorate in literature and film studies from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
Dr. Mathur is currently involved with teacher development initiatives at the Rishi Valley Institute for Teacher Education, a unit of the Rishi Valley Education Centre, Andhra Pradesh.
